Tikil Gomen (Cabbage, Carrot & Potato) at Enat Restaurant - authentic Ethiopian food in London, Ontario

About Our Tikil Gomen (Cabbage, Carrot & Potato)

Tikil Gomen is a classic Ethiopian cabbage dish prepared in the mild alicha style, without berbere. At Enat Restaurant we slow-cook shredded cabbage together with carrots and potato, seasoned with turmeric, onion, garlic and gentle spices until everything is tender and lightly golden.

The turmeric gives the dish its warm colour while the vegetables bring a natural sweetness that makes it approachable for every palate, including children and guests new to Ethiopian food. It is light, healthy and fully plant-based, and it is a reliable favourite on our combo plates served with injera.
